The Light: a major art exhibition on the universal theme of light

Inspired by lines from a poem by T S Eliot, ‘The Light’ is a large scale art exhibition on the universal theme of light.
Curated by Kingsland based artist Charles MacCarthy, ‘The Light’ includes works by over 50 professional local artists across a variety of media including painting, sculpture and prints as well as stained glass, light boxes and light projections. Featured artists include Wally Gilbert, Ken Eastman, Mike Clements, Stella Hidden, Allen Fisher, Meg Ellis, Susie Cawley, Julienne Braham, Alison McGregor Grimley, Jane Tudge, Nicky Hopwood, Maggie Jones, Robert Wood and David England. Additionally, ‘The Light’ showcases video and digital media from artists such as Rebecca Farkas and Lois Hopwood which adds a totally new and exciting dimension to the show.

Organised by SMAAAK (The Friends of Kingsland Church) as part of the ongoing fundraising needed to preserve Kingsland’s beautiful Church, ‘The Light’ is open daily from 10am to 4pm. Free entry
